Chief financial officer Josh Jepsen attributed the sales improvement to higher mechanical output and some earlier-than-anticipated transactions. Adjusted EBIT reached $1.16 billion, benefiting from approximately $50 million in net tariff refunds.

Honeywell Targets Supplier Constraints for 2027 Recovery

CEO Jim Currier identified production growth as management's foremost priority. Approximately 70 suppliers require additional oversight, while 10 critical suppliers are primarily responsible for limiting output.

The principal shortages involve complex machining, castings, forgings and bearings. Management reported improving deliveries, although bearings remain particularly constrained.

During the Q&A, a Morgan Stanley analyst questioned recovery visibility. Currier explained that a second bearings supplier is increasing production, with another supplier expected to add capacity in the second quarter of 2027.

HONA Raises Earnings and Cash Flow Guidance

Jepsen reaffirmed full-year organic sales growth guidance of 4% to 5%, reflecting continued production limitations despite stronger demand.

The company raised its 2026 pro forma standalone adjusted earnings guidance to $7.85-$8.00 per share from $7.60-$7.90, primarily reflecting lower expected below-the-line expenses.

Second-half free cash flow guidance increased to $1.2-$1.4 billion from $1.0-$1.5 billion. Meanwhile, the adjusted EBIT outlook narrowed to $4.375-$4.425 billion, maintaining its previous midpoint.

Honeywell Faces Continued Margin Pressures

Jepsen explained that tariff refunds contributed more than 100 basis points to third-quarter adjusted EBIT margin. Management does not anticipate comparable refunds in the fourth quarter.

During the Q&A, a Jefferies analyst questioned normalized profitability. Jepsen indicated that fourth-quarter margins should settle around the mid-23% range, reflecting unfavorable mix and the absence of temporary benefits.

Analysts from Wolfe Research and JPMorgan also questioned 2027 profitability. Management emphasized that higher production volumes and pricing improvements would support performance, although accelerated investments and product mix would remain headwinds.

HONA Sees Strong Demand Across Aerospace Markets

Commercial original equipment sales grew 8% organically, supported by aircraft production increases. Commercial aftermarket revenues advanced 2%, constrained by component availability despite 12% order growth.

Defense and Space revenues increased 1%, while trailing 12-month orders expanded 18%. Management prioritized domestic defense deliveries, limiting international shipments.

During the Q&A, a Wells Fargo analyst questioned whether unfavorable mix would persist. Jepsen explained that faster original equipment growth and ongoing supply limitations would continue influencing the company's sales mix in 2027.

Honeywell Expands Capacity and Capital Investments

Currier announced a $500 million expansion of the company's Tempe, AZ, manufacturing campus, scheduled to open in late 2028.

The facility will support Control Systems production, increase vertical integration and reduce external supplier dependencies. Management also highlighted more than $20 billion in year-to-date customer lifetime wins.

The company declared its inaugural quarterly dividend of 40 cents per share. Jepsen identified organic investment, selective acquisitions and shareholder returns as capital allocation priorities, while expecting capital expenditures to increase in 2027.

HONA Maintains Long-Term Operational Priorities

Management reiterated its commitment to 2030 targets while acknowledging that accelerating sales growth depends on resolving supplier constraints.

Currier emphasized improving manufacturing output and converting strong customer demand into deliveries. Jepsen maintained that near-term investments would support the company's longer-term operating objectives, despite continuing margin pressures.

Honeywell's Zacks Rank and Style Scores Signal Caution

The Zacks Rank may change as analysts revise earnings estimates following the third-quarter results. Such revisions could alter the stock's near-term ranking independently of its current Style Scores.
